Ok. I have not been able to solve my crashing problem with my office apps. The first question I have is about the font issues. In my case my office apps startup just fine. They crash sometime later. For example, entourage crashed 5 times throughout the day today. I fired up word, and after 15 minutes, it also crashed. I haven't used the other apps enough to know if they have similar problems, but I haven't seen it with powerpoint or excel. >From what I have read, people with font issues have problems starting up their office apps. Could my problem be related to fonts?
The entourage crash does not happen everytime it checks mail. I don't know if the crashes coincide with mail checking or not. I have a PB G4 (500 MHz, 768 M ram). I thought part of the problem might be that everything was installed on one partition (OS X and OS 9). So, I wiped my hard drive, partitioned it into two, and installed them both separately. I now have a 3.5 G OS 9.2.2 partition and a 25 G OS X partition. I installed OS 9 first. Then installed my classic apps on the OS 9 partition. These include: Adobe Pagemaker 6.5 Adobe Photoshop 6.0.1 Filemaker Pro 5.0v3 Endnote 5 Dreamweaver 4 Quicken Deluxe 2001 Toast Lite CS Chemoffice Pro 4.5 Realplayer Iomegaware Techtool 6.5.2 I then installed OS X, and ran all the software updates since 10.1 came out. I added my native X apps. These are: Office X (hotmail updater added) Canvas 8 Fetch 4.0.1 Graphic Converter 4.0.9 Netscape Windows Media Player Limewire (haven't used it yet) Stuffit Lite 6.5.1 Acrobat 5 (classic then updated to 5.0.5) HP Deskjet installer HP Laserjet installer If it is a font thing, I guess I would suspect the Adobe stuff to be the culprit. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, I can't find the solution, so if any of you gurus can offer any advice, I would really appreciate it.
