Ok... anyone have an idea why Entourage sends an AUTH as the first command when it connects to my POP server? The POP server does not support AUTH, and so reponds with -ERR, and Entourage promptly quits the connection rather than just sending the standard USER/PASS combo.
It so far only seems to do this to MY POP server. Some it sends an APOP (if the welcome banner has the challenge in it), others it just properly starts with USER. So why is my server getting sent an AUTH command? The following is a stream log showing it: >Receive data (23 bytes) on stream 1. >>00000000> +OK POP3 server ready > >Send data (6 bytes) on stream 1. ><00000000< AUTH > >Receive data (6 bytes) on stream 1. >>00000017> -ERR Invalid command > >Send data (6 bytes) on stream 1. ><00000006< QUIT > >Receive data (29 bytes) on stream 1. >>0000001D> +OK POP3 connection closed Anyone have a clue? -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
