So I've been experimenting with the calendaring feature in Entourage X and
accepting invitations sent to me via an iCal compliant server. Cool.

When I receive one of these invitations I can accept it, and it's
automatically added to my Entourage calendar. Cooler!

However, when Entourage gets ready to notify me about this appointment, I
get the following error: "Microsoft Office Notifications cannot start. The
database for your identity is locked. To fix this problem, use the finder to
unlock the Database and Database Cache files in your identity folder." These
files are, of course, not locked. Every time I reboot Entourage I get this
error. Not so cool. :-)

I've found that if I -delete- these appointments, the error then will not
occur on the next launch of Entourage. Also, if it makes a difference the
iCal compliant server is a NIMS 3.x server (a Novell product, sorry MS
faithful!). :-) again.

I don't know how many people ever use this neat feature of Entourage, so I'm
not sure if this has been encountered or not. It may already be known and
fixed in the soon-to-be-released Office v.X SR 1 for all I know, but I
thought I'd ask. Thanks for any information!
