I updated to SR1/10.1.5 and was the obvious recipient of Quartz Text Smoothing. I just need to know if I am getting ready to have a stroke or something; as all it has done is make sharp black text grey and blurry.
The claim is increased readability - to me it is much worse readability. I am on a 500Mhz Titanium, Screen Res at 1152 x 768/millions - using EvX (as well as word and IE 5.2). Quartz has made everything much tougher to read - so I have disabled it all. Not that I want to start a support group for those of us who may not see the benefit - but can someone explain to me how this is supposed to be better, or if there is possibly an issue with hw/sw?
