I have encountered a VERY annoying bug in Entourage which mangles internet
addresses in the Reply-To line if more than one is present. For instance,
one mailing list I am on includes both the mailing list address AND the
sender's address in the Reply-To line so that when you hit Reply, both
addresses are added to the To field and you can choose between them. This is
standard and valid usage (per RFC 822), and it works fine in most email
clients, but Entourage becomes hopelessly confused and mangles the two
addresses together. Example:
Reply-To: PageMaker for Desktop Publishers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,
Person's name <person@address>
Becomes
To: "Person's name PageMaker for Desktop Publishers ,"
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]@address>
This, of course, means I can't reply to such messages without editing the
"To" line manually. My workaround has been to use "Reply to All" and delete
the mangled address, but alas "Reply to All" is not an option when applying
rules, so one of my rules is broken, as well. So I would like to see:
1. Entourage properly handle multiple addresses in "Reply-To";
2. "Reply to All" and "Reply to Sender" added as options when applying
rules.
