I have all my accounts set to only download partial messages that are over 120k, as I get a lot of klez and other virii that I don't wish to download. Normally I'll then use Entourage's option of downloading the message if it's legit, or deleting it on the server if it isn't.
I have one particular POP3 account that doesn't seem to cooperate with this under either Entourage 2001 or X. It'll do the partial download, but I'm not given any option to completely download the message or delete it from the sever. And I *can't* use Online Access to delete it from the server as it seems inextricably tied to the local copy. If I permanently delete the copy on my hard drive and then look at the server, there's still a ghosted message there that I can click on but doesn't display any header information. Under Entourage 2001, trying to view or delete the ghosted message caused a crash. I haven't tried this with Entourage X. I've had to resort to using Emailer periodically to download all the stuck messages and delete them. I presume that this particular POP3 server doesn't like Entourage's efforts to store partial messages. But it doesn't seem to have a problem with Emailer. Am I out of luck, or is there anything I should try?
