Odd indeed!

Do you have more than one account set up? Check and make sure your outgoing
mail server (SMTP) is set up properly in each account. It is usually an
address like smtp.mydomain.com, and some servers (maybe even most, today)
require authentication. This is accessed by clicking the "Advanced" button
under the "Sending mail" section of the account setup screen.

What I'm guessing right now is that your default account (the one used when
you create a new message) is set up correctly. but your replies are using a
different account. A quick test of this would be to click the "Always use
default account" box in the Reply & Forward section of Mail & News
preferences.

If you only have one account defined, then I've run out of ideas...
