What may be bothering you is that there is - as yet - no script editor which accepts Unicode characters typed in from the keyboard. That is hardly Entourage's fault, is it? But if you can get the data in some other way, it works. (Selection in TextEdit, for example, or from an Entourage note.) Actually, it might worth checking out the new Script Editor 2.0 beta that comes with Developer Tools Dec 2002. It's Cocoa, so maybe it works. The next version of Script Debugger will be able to do it, for sure.

All of the Japanese fields in Entourage 2001 that were not scriptable are still missing from Entourage v.X. In addition to the greeting related fields, they were the furigana fields that are needed as a pronunciation guide for names. At one point I had generated a list of the various fields that were in Entourage but either could not be scripted or import/exported (there are problems with import/export as well), you can probably find it in whatever archive of this list is kept.

Depending on how they are implemented, the Greeting Card fields alone could be as many as fifty fields – five fields per year for a ten year period. These actually take up most of my list (and even I did not realize just how many there are). There are a number of others as I documented about two years ago.
Those (Greeting Cards) are the ones I saw. I didn't see any others. Maybe there were others missing two years ago in Entourage 2001 - I don't see any others missing from X. I don't think it would be such a big deal for Entourage to implement those greeting card properties: structurally, it's not actually 50: each "year" would be a separate element, which would be a record with 5 properties. But it would mean Dan would have to create a 'greeting card' class to be able to implement this.
