This behavior only occurs if any part of the signature if modified.
Unfortunately, Entourage considers the blank line above the signature
separator to be part of the signature. Since message bodies start out as:

<br>
--<space><br>
Signature text...

If you begin typing immediately on that first line, Entourage seems to
consider you to be in the signature. Everything will still work correctly
**IF** no corrections are made on that line. For example, if you tab into
the message body in a new message and type:

Here is a lot of sample text

Without making any errors, then changing the signature will work.
But if you type:

Here is a lot fo<backspace><backspace>of sample text

Or

Here is alot of sample text

And auto-correct changes "alot" to "a lot", you will now start getting the
duplicate signature.

I pointed this all out to the developers on the list so they are aware of
it.
