Mickey, Thanks for your thorough reply. It's too bad, really, that IMAP has such constraints. I suspect this is driven by the fact that IMAP accounts can be configured to leave the messages on the server and only download message headers. I would think there would be a way to get partial functionality. For example, maybe rules that examine the message body or attachments would only run for messages that *are* fully downloaded. In my case, that would be 99.9% of messages!
