My wife needs to move from her iMac to a more robust machine. She runs a
Siberian Cat breeding business and must manage a huge number of photographs.
Plus, her breeding business software runs only under Windows, and THAT
program runs DRAMATICALLY faster under Windows XP/VPC on a "mirrored doors"
dual 1 GHz G4 than it does on her 800 MHz G4 iMac.

Anyway, I tried to bring her OS X account data from her iMac to the dual
processor G4 using Carbon Copy Cloner, but I think I screwed it up. All of
HER files were imported to the G4 having their ownership privileges set to
me. Even after changing those (verified by being able to read file info data
when logged in on the dual-processor machine as her), I cannot run
Entourage. The program says it cannot access the data, suggests a rebuild,
but says rebuild fails if I try because "I don't have access to the data."
The dialog also says I should have my administrator remove the identities
folder from the application folder. It's not there. It's where it should be;
i.e., ~/documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X Identities/Main Identity

I've also tried a direct Finder copy of the database from one machine to the
other (with the iMac in FireWire target disk mode). Same problem.

I should also mention that I DID compact her database while running
Entourage FROM the iMac before trying to transfer it, and I was surprised to
see that even after compacting her database is 954 Mbytes. Does that suggest
more worrisome problems?

Thanks so much for any pointers or suggestions.
