Hope you get a chance to test this for me... Ever since I migrated from OS9.0.4, and Outlook Express 5.0.6 to Entourage 10.1.4 (030702) under OSX 10.2.7-7-10.3-10.3.1 I couldn't get rid of this HIGHLY ANNOYING ISSUE --
When I use Apple � Symbol � (Shift-Option-K) Entourage's Spell Checker-Autocorrect consider it a misspelling and offer to turn it into lower case "a". No matter what I did, I couldn't teach the Entourage Spell Checker, or Autocorrect to learn it. I couldn't Add it to Entourage's Custom Dictionary which is located in User/Library/Microsoft I've deleted that entire User/Library/Microsoft Folder many times, Repaired Permissions, Ran Disk First Aid, and Hardware Test from CD, deleted com.apple.systempreferences.plist file -- but NOTHING HELPS!!!! This has been going on under OSX 10.2.7-7-10.3-10.3.1 This issue occurs ONLY in my Entourage 10.1.4 (030702), but NOT in Word 10.1.4 (030701) The ONLY way to stop Entourage's Spellchecker from catching this Apple Symbol is to do Ignore All whenever I first launch Entourage, but when I Quit Entourage, and re-launch it Spell Checker again tries to correct it. This issue exists in Entourage only, but not Word, and it exists under my Main, and Secondary Users!!! Some Fonts can't even display this Apple Character � And here is another STRANGE FACT --- I sent myself a Test Email with this Apple Character � as is, i.e. not clicking on Ignore All, and it arrived back to me looking perfectly OK. The Spell Checker doesn't like this Apple Character in both Body and Subject Line of email, in its Draft State, but the same Email's Title Bar Displays this character correctly... I've tried Deleting the Entourage's Custom Dictionary from User/Library/Microsoft, but a New Custom Dictionary never appeared in its place, inside User/Library/Microsoft I never had this problem on my old set up -- 9600, OS9.0.4, and Outlook Express 5.0.6 I've heard from other users that they haven't had a problem with this Apple Character � under OSX and Entourage. HOW DO I TEACH THIS CHARACTER ONCE AND FOR ALL TO MY ENTOURAGE, without having to do Ignore All each time I Launch Entourage? Or is this some kind of "MicroHard" Big Bill Conspiracy?!:):):)!?
