I use Earthlink, too, and I, too, am always blocked from sending e-mail from any place other than my home. This thread led me to try using my .Mac Entourage account's SMTP setting for outgoing mail, and to my surprise Earthlink blocked that, too, both from my home and from my office. It didn't occur to me that I might have to go so far as to create a new Entourage identity to cut the ties to Earthlink. That is really inconvenient, because switching identities takes forever when you have as many deleted messages to be removed from the database as I do each day (several hundred). Are you saying that only one ISP can be associated with each identity, and all outgoing mail will go through that ISP when using that identity, no matter what address is set as the SMTP server in a particular account for that identity and no matter where in the world I'm traveling? I can't find anything in Entourage Help that explains the details of this. -- Bill Cheeseman - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Quechee Software, Quechee, Vermont, USA http://www.quecheesoftware.com The AppleScript Sourcebook - http://www.AppleScriptSourcebook.com Vermont Recipes - http://www.stepwise.com/Articles/VermontRecipes -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
