The high-detail type of icons that Microsoft Office v. X use are only
possible in OS X. You could convert the icon to a type that OS 9 can use
(and there are probably situations where they might coerce naturally without
special software), but it wouldn't look the same - it would be rough,
angular, flat, ugly. I don't think your friend would like it. One more
reason for him to move to OS X...
