Out of curiosity...did you rotate the rule precedence to give each rule
first crack at filtering your junk mail? You can't really measure the
effectiveness of a rule if it is always second after another rule. For
example...say you have rule A, B and C, in that order:

Rule A = 50% of your spam
Rule B = 30%
Rule C = 5%

If you don't rotate the rules and give rules B and C a shot at being first
on the same set of messages you haven't really measured their relative
effectiveness. Perhaps rule C would have caught almost everything rules A
and B would have:

Rule C = 83%
Rule A = 1%
Rule B = 1%

If this were the case you could reduce the message processing effectiveness
by simply re-ordering the rules. Why spend time processing rules A and B
when the message could have already been discarded/filed by rule C? I run a
mail server at the company I work for and I periodically rotate the
precedence of the RBLs we use to measure their relative effectiveness.
