This is insane. Entourage has been sitting here since last Wednesday evening trying to
complete its first synchronisation with the Exchange server. That's almost SIX DAYS.
That can't be normal behaviour.

It's been sitting there the entire time with the pizza spinning, using about 70-90%
CPU most of the time (the fan on the laptop goes on an off at fairly regular intervals
as a result --- in fact there it goes now). And yet, it appears to have done nothing
on the network during the entire time that it's been sitting there spinning. It's
almost like it's stuck in a buzz loop.

Watching with tcpflow I initially saw all the contacts and calendar entries go flowing
past. When they finished, everything seemed to just grind to a halt and nothing's
happened since.

Does anyone have any ideas? I know from previous experience that killing Entourage off
at this point appears to break ongoing synchronisation. I really want to get this to
work, and it's extremely frustrating to get this close and fail. I can't afford to
leave Entourage spinning any longer --- I have work to do and Outlook Web Mail (which
I've been using in the interim and am using to write this) sucks for everyday use.

Help!

Nigel.
