On the plus side: Entourage (not even X) doesn't crash while you're writing a note, so you don't have to continually save. Even if it did, its recovery thing would, I think, restitute the note when you relaunched. (At least it does for messages, perfectly. I've never, ever crashed when writing a note, so I'm not 100% positive it applies to notes.) Since Entourage saves to its own database, not to a separate file on disk, there's no limit for the number of autosaves that may occur if you don't save it yourself - it's safe to leave it unsaved until done. On the plus side for Word (just out of interest): Word 2004 doesn't crash where Word X might have. In both X and 2004, the recovery of unsaved documents in fantastic. However, you don't want to every hit that limit for maximum auto-saves, so it _is_ good to save Word docs periodically. -- Paul Berkowitz MVP Entourage Entourage FAQ Page: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/toc.html> AppleScripts for Entourage: <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/> PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - **2004**, X or 2001.
