On the plus side:

Entourage (not even X) doesn't crash while you're writing a note, so you
don't have to continually save.

Even if it did, its recovery thing would, I think, restitute the note when
you relaunched. (At least it does for messages, perfectly. I've never, ever
crashed when writing a note, so I'm not 100% positive it applies to notes.)

Since Entourage saves to its own database, not to a separate file on disk,
there's no limit for the number of autosaves that may occur if you don't
save it yourself - it's safe to leave it unsaved until done.


On the plus side for Word (just out of interest):

Word 2004 doesn't crash where Word X might have.

In both X and 2004, the recovery of unsaved documents in fantastic.

However, you don't want to every hit that limit for maximum auto-saves, so
it _is_ good to save Word docs periodically.
