Currently we use Outlook 2001 in Classic. I was wondering if anyone has had
success with using Entourage 2004 with Exchange 2003 server. We are running
a mix of 10.2.8 and 10.3.4, and do have Office v.X 10.1.5, but that
Entourage client is, frankly, lacking (at least in our corporate
environment). Am hoping 2004 will be better.

Our problems with using Entourage are:

1) can't open Personal Folders from 2001; is there a third-party or MS tool
for this, or will there ever be a way to see/extract/convert them?
2) can't get to Public folders including Calendars, so we can't see the
availability of conference rooms, a/v or computer resources, etc. I
understand this has something to do the IMAP view settings on the server.
Outlook 2001, of course, works fine.
4) can't accept, decline, mark as tentative meeting requests, though I can
see the information (where, when, etc.) in the e-mail text.
5) can't see/search Global Address Book. LDAP server is entered, though the
search base is blank; tried putting in our domain name, but that didn't
work. Oddly, in Apple's Address book, I can (after configuring) search but
not see our GAB.
6) don't see a way to archive messages, like the auto-archive in the Windows
version. Am hoping Project Center will allow for that, but have not
read/seen anything.
7) can't send e-mail to outside people, can send to internal people, but
only if I type in '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'

In talking to our e-mail group, I know we're going to Exchange 2003 Server,
and as far as I know will enable WebDAV, for OWA. I'm assuming enabling
WebDAV will solve some problems, and wonder how much of the above problems
is due to our Exchange server setup. Is there anything else our e-mail group
would have to do to facilitate the Mac usage of Entourage 2004? I'd really
like to move to an OS X e-mail client, preferably Entourage.

Out of curiosity (to any MBU'ers out there), would a Carbonization or
native-app rework of the Outlook 2001 client have been a bad thing?

Thanks, and have a Mac day!
