I also seem to have to rebuild my database once a week or so, I probably get on average 100+ emails a day of which probably keep 5/10 in many different folders for archiving many with large attachments - and I send out quite a few also with large attachments, but I normally go through and delete the attachments and just keep the emails. My database file never seem to go down below 250mb but is often up to 750mb.
I also get an HTML email that Entourage 'hangs' on - it starts to read it and then the spinning beach ball starts and in the end I have to do a force quit.
