And why do you see Carbon as being a disadvantage, Allen? For users, that is. Apple has gone on record over and over again as saying that Carbon is as valid for the OS as Cocoa. I think there are a couple of issues to do with Services, maybe, but what else? The advantage of Cocoa is for developers of brand new apps that aren't going to be cross platform - it's easier and faster to develop them in Cocoa, for sure. That of course does not apply to apps like Entourage which already existed pre-OS X, which were much easier and faster to bring over to OS X as Carbon than re-write from scratch, as you say.
