I am not too up-to-date on Mac OS 9 anymore, but I seemed to remember that it was either not enough memory assigned to Entourage, or an older version of the iE Control Engine (if that was the name of it) in the Extensions folder.
And for the record, version 9.0.5 is the latest version of Office 2001. This updater will update all versions of Office 2001, no matter where you left it at.
