Since upgrading to Entourage 2004, I can no longer check my POP e-mail accounts from behind my work's firewall. I'm trying to diagnose the problem using two computers, one with Entourage X (which works splendidly), and one with Entourage 2004, which doesn't work.=20 Entourage X used its own proxy configuration preferences, and to get my POP mail, I set the proxies as follows (myproxy being the proxy address):
Protocol...Method...Address...Port Web........Normal....myproxy...80 Mail.........Tunnel....myproxy...80 Secure.....Tunnel...myproxy...80 This works great in Entourage X. Entourage 2004 now uses the OS X Network Preferences, and there is no "tunnel" option. It seems that Entourage uses the SOCKS proxy, but it just hangs when checking mail (if I turn off the SOCKS proxy, I get an error message, so that seems to be the swing factor). I've set the SOCKS proxy (and all the other ones, for good measure) to my work proxy address, but there isn't any TUNNEL option (as in Entourage X).
