Greetings,

BACKGROUND:
I have E 11.2.1 running on two 10.4.3 machines, one a Dual 1.8G with gobs of
memory running OS X server and the other a Pismo laptop with G4 upgrade and
lots of memory too.

I have three primary IMAP accounts on two servers - two on a third Mac
running EIMS (its a G4 Sawtooth 10.4.3 upgraded to a 1GHz processor), and
the third at a commercial ISP. I use the Dual desktop as my primary email
spam eliminator. In theory, it accesses the IMAP accounts, runs SpamSieve
and does some basic rules/mailing list manager filing - the results of which
I want to see on my Pismo.

It seems that when I am on the Dual and the screen saver is not running (a
default Apple saver), that it does its job fine. The interesting thing is
when I am on my Pismo and try to access the same IMAP accounts (assuming the
Dual is screen saving - which should not have anything to do with this),
that the Dual has not processed the mail - lots of spam in the In box and
one rule that forwards certain messages to my wife seems to not have run are
the most noticeable things. I'm a long time Entourage user and this
behavior is unusual to me.

I can understand that my Pismo might check for messages in between when the
dual does so there might be a few messages that are not processed - but not
hours worth.

QUESTION:
So - as I continue to diagnose this problem - a specific question. If I
check mail on the Pismo and leave spam in the in box, when the Dual checks
the same in box does it think that is a new in box message and run all of
the rules or does it somehow know that this message was seem before (by my
Pismo) and ignore it?

Thanks,

Dean
