One way to see what is happening is to install TCPflow.

Thank you for your reply. I was thinking of something more like what
is offered by Eudora where I can see the message lines being
sent/received (as opposed to the actual TCP/IP Packets). I was not
specific enough with my original needs. While I can probably use your
suggested monitor, it seems to be overkill for my needs.
I already had TCPflow as part of IPNetMonitorX and used that copy. It
captured what I needed. Now I need to see what is going wrong with my
attempts to logon to a POP Server.
