Because sync is so messed up right now. I advise syncing from Entourage only when needed. I would turn off all other syncing from Apple Address Book while the Entourage -Address Book sync is taking place. Sync your data then turn Sync Services off in Entourage preferences.Then let Apple's applications sync.
