I found these down near the Connecticut River in Northfield, MA and am
rather clueless as to what I'm looking at. The bark just says Ash to
me, but the branch structure of these trees clearly does not.

Tree #1
7.5' CBH
86.5' tall

Buds are very bright red, twigs are lightish in color, alternate
pattern. Has "drupes" very light in color, with some remaining leaves
attached. Bark is narrowly fissured, and branches grow out and droop
from trunk.

Tree #2
4.5' CBH
95.2' tall

Buds are yellow, twigs are light with dark brown leaf scars. Bud/
branch arrangement is alternate. Bark is again narrowly fissured.

Any ideas?
