Hi folks,

While exploring a recovering forest on old fields that haven't been
farmed in 80+ years I found this tree. The woodlot is in southern Cape
Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Can anyone help me identify the tree? It
looks like some kind of birch to me, but I am new to this.
