Jenny, Please continue with your thread. The problem is that when someone starts a new topic they need to start with a blank email. If they just reply to an existing discussion, delete everything, and type in a new Subject - the system thinks that the topic title was changed, rather than it being a new topic entirely. That is because the basic deletion and changing the subject does not change the hidden codes in the header. If someone wants to start a new topic, they should start with a blank email without this hidden header information. (you can see this header information by right clicking on the email in the list view and selecting "properties" You topic was fine.
