Sooooper Dooooper! Too bad about the ash. But 139 isn't shabby.

Subject: [ENTS] Catamount update #2

Tha Catamount Rucker index keeps increasing as I sample more areas.
Today I had a couple of hours to reconfirm past finds and explore an
additional cove. I was not able to confirm the 142' ash (I wrote
+1.6 for a base angle where it should have been +10.6) and got a
lower height on the bitternut, but made several improvements
elsewhere. I will have to check out a couple more areas, but for
now,

RI 10 Catamount

WA 139.0' 10.7'
WP 134.6' 9.5'
SM 115.1' 5.2'
SBH 113.6 4.3'
BNH 112.4 5.7'
BC 109.2 4.6'
EH 108.0 5.6'
RM 107.5 6.0'
NRO 106.7 7.1'
BB 104.3 3.6'

RI 10 115.0

Catamount leapfrogs a few sites, and has some unique attributes in
terms of species distribution. The Shagbark hickory is exceptionally
tall for Massachusetts (the Ice Glen SBH at 133' is a way outlier),
and the ash is one of the biggest in that height class.
