For those of you in cohort 7, it is a chance to return to the site of your August visit. Vancouver is equally lovely in February, but much wetter! I am very pleased that some LEAD Fellows will be speaking at the conference, including me, Richard Paisley, Canada C6; Gisela Alencar, Brazil, C1; and Gustavo Alanis, Mexico, C7. Additional speakers include representatives from NGOs; academia; the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and the Commission on Environmental Cooperation. The conference will focus on international environmental law. There will be panel discussions on future developments; climate change; innovations in international water law; biosafety and biotechnology; trade and environment; the Commission on Environmental Cooperation; and perspectives from developing countries and countries in transition.
