Well I just bought my first IS the 28-135.
Consequently I have a spare EF 28-105.
It will be 2 years old in march.
It is in perfect condition with a UV filter on it 99.99% of the time.
It has been kept in my camera bag when not in use. (even have silica gel packs
to keep things dry)
It comes caps, box, papers, with a newer canon hood and a UV filter.
It does have a couple of specs of dust as you would expect but they
can only be seen (directly) in very bright light. Will not cause any
problems and I don't even notice any extra flare because of it.
