Very interesting test, I am interested in how you activated the IS and just
wonder if you waited the 1/2 second for the activation after depressing the
shutter release. I have done this same test with my 600 F4 and 100-400 and
found no vibration to the image just the camera I am using a gitzo 410
tripod and a arca ballhead so there is quite a bit of mass anyway. I have
never done this with my 28-135 since it is not a two stage IS like the newer
designs another thing I have notice about my 28-135 is that the IS produces
a higher noisy level than any of my newer designed lens's.
