I also found a (Hama) cutting device functionality poor and stopped
using it (and re-started using my Fiskars scissors).
So buy Fiskars but make sure they are genuine Fiskars, not a copy.

BTW: If you happen to visit Finland and have a car then the old
small Fiskars village may be worth visiting if you are in the
neighbourhood...
