Hi Robert, Have you thought about the 380EX? It seems very good and is that (vital) bit cheaper. The Eos 7 is v. nice, bought mine last week and am very pleased. Personally I would go for the 70-200 f4, no IS but it is a beautifully balanced lens and very good quality. Have you thought about buying 2nd hand? I know you don't get the same warranty, but touch wood this hasn't been a problem for me (all my 'good' lenses are 2nd hand). I feel that the 70-200 even with extenders on, is a much better bet than the 75-300.
