I had my A2e "fived" when it was having the command dial fixed by
Horizon.

The internal flash pops up in green mode, Portrait mode, and close up
mode.
I tried the rest and it does not pop up automatically on any of the
other modes.

On fact, with the flash up, when I turned the command dial to scenic
mode, the flash retracted.

BTW, I thought the $110US wasn't a bad deal for getting the command
dial fixed and the body "fived". Horizon also went over the body and
made sure that everything was in spec. I paid an extra $20US to have
the front cover replaced. It had a scratch on it anyway, and now it has
EOS-5 on it rather than A2e.

Everybody has a photographic memory. Some just don't have any film.
