OK, here's a strange question. Given that some of the cheaper zooms
are worse at their long end, would it work to use the, lens at a
shorter focal length, and then use a TC to regain the reach? Or would
you lose what you had gained? Assume a "pro" TC. In other words, if
I get a 1.4x TC and put it on my 75-300 III USM, and limit the focal
length to about 210mm, will I then have a better 300mm?
