It's a common problem... well there was a real problem like that, and then
maybe some feel that the evaluative metering just underexposes a bit. (In
that case the calibration of the meter, i.e. spot or centerweighted, can
still be correct.) And the real problem was supposedly only in the first
EOS 3's - not the new ones.

Ah, this all depends on soo many things. If you are a pro (and can prove
that someway... In Finland - this is what I once heard from somewhere...
might not be so anymore - if one had two pro cameras, EOS 3's or EOS 1?'s,
and I think 4 L lenses, one could be part of some Canon "pro team" or
something...) you might get another body for the time being. Or actually
since the operation probably is very simple, they will do it while you
wait. Which they probably will not do if you are not a pro. Nor will they
give you another body to work with either. Unless they are nice Canon
people :-) (I hope there are such...)

Well, the exposure compensation compensates the available light
metering, and the compensation in flash controls the flash exposure. They
are independent. What I would do, is to change the film ISO setting. That
applies to everything.
