I did a quick('n'dirty) "lab test" on the topic, since I remembered the
cheap +2 close-up lens I have lying around after I posted the last message.
The magnification achieved at 135mm (with EF 28-135 IS) is about 0,35X, give
or take a few hundreds.
The close focusing distance is ~200mm (could be very wrong, was hard to
measure without using a tripod and a fixed objekt to focus on)
