Hello,

Am I correct in understanding that ECF is a Canon exclusive? It
seems that the closest one can get to Canon's use of eye ball
tracking is Minolta, which tracks eye ball for startup but not
focusing.

If this is correct, does Canon still hold the patent on the
feature? Would Nikon employ ECF if given the opportunity, despite
any outstanding patents? For instance, doesn't Canon have a
patent on in-lens image stabilization? Yet Nikon released their
own version of the same with VR.

Perhaps I'm wrong in that last point regarding an IS patent, but
I'm left thinking that Nikon doesn't consider ECF to be a
worthwhile feature. ...oh if they only knew...

bye,
Chris
