Since neither of us have checked you don't know if I'm wrong!
I'm willing to bet that as an authorized Canon dealer Wal-Mart will ship
cameras back to Canon for repair. I'm willing to bet that this is a
requirement of their Canon dealership.
Regarding their phone numbers, my companies dealers change their phone
numbers all the time and don't tell us. The phone company has been
changing area codes on very short notice with no rationality (my
next-door neighbor can now have a different area code that I do). Do
you think we have someone who calls our dealers every week just to see
if anything has changed. You couldn't afford the products if we did!
Canon probably gave you the CLOSEST repair locations, there wasn't any
Canon authorized repair center nearby so they gave you places that would
arrange to have your Canon repaired.
