Bob,     Maybe you have a lemon.  While my D30 does not AF as fast as my
1v, it's certainly faster than my Elan IIe.  How did you measure the
speeds?  Did you use a stopwatch or some digital means to measure?  As
thorough as you are in testing papers, inks and printers, surely you are
speaking from experience and not hearsay or gossip or a post from
someone you don't know.  We both know not everyone's estimate of fast is
