What is the consensus price for the super teles with IS:
400/2.8
500/4.0
600/4.0
Also, Canon never made a 500/4.5 with IS, right (the first 500 with IS
was the 4.0, correct)?
I am planning to purchase the 500/4, I think, since it seems like the
best compromise between length and speed. A 1.4x converter should give
a pretty nice image quality and still be fairly long. I figure that the
2x converter would degrade the 400/2.8 image too much, plus it is more
expensive, generally. Any thoughts?

PS I am not interested in any without IS, so don't bother mentioning how
much I could save on older ones...
