I have it and it's a very good lens. Very sharp (even wide open), silent,
good build quality, not to heavy...
I don't know the other versions, but I really recommand it.

The only "bad" things for me are the color (black would have been more
sober) and the fact that the tripod collar is optional. No big deal...
