Well, I can't imagine why the PB-E2 would be a part of this camera -
why use something that contains a motor and gears dedicated to
winding on *film*?
I would certainly approve of a built-in vertical grip and the option
to take more batteries. Battery life may well be a bit less than the
D30 because the large CMOS will no doubt take more juice. It will
need a *big* buffer if its going to be able to tank along at 8fps or
so (and I'm sure the will want to out-do Nikon on fps!) and they will
probably have a faster CPU to compress (JPG) the images before
dumping them to the card. A firewire port would also be a sensible
move because the files will be a lot bigger.
All this is academic because unless I land a commission to shoot for
Sports Illustrated there's no way I'm going to be able to justify its
cost. I'll have to 'put up' with the D30 (or its successor - D30n?)
with my 1n for backup!
Chris.
