I agree with Jim. The Off-Camera Shoe Cord 2 is great for getting the flash
at the right angle to the subject. I've been using it a lot for fill-flash
with outdoor subjects as you can situate the light source in places other
than directly above your lens. The downside of course is that you have to
hold your camera with one hand while you hold the flash with the other.
I've been thinking about getting the 420EX because it's smaller and lighter
and also won't be as massive as the 550EX while it's hanging around my neck
from the Off-Camera Shoe Cord when not it use; plus of course it's feature
as a wireless slave unit.
