I bought a Rebel 2000 as a second body but find myself missing
opportunities as the camera will not fire unless the AF system deems the
subject is in perfect focus. The camera is used in M mode. It refuses to
fire regardless of whether focus point selection is automatic (all seven
squares showing) or manually selected (with a single square showing).

In hummingbird photography this is quite frustrating! As I read the
manual, the Rebel 2000 uses AI Servo focusing in M mode and should fire
regardless of the subject being in or out of focus. This is not what is
happening. Help please as this quirk renders the Rebel all but useless
to me.
