Stopped down to f8 or so the image quality is acceptable, note it's just
acceptable, not stellar.

And yes I did sell my Tamron after a couple of years, I have to admit I
bought the Tamron as part of sticker shock when first getting into the EOS
system, looking back I should have save the difference for the A2E for the
A2 and bite the bullet for a better Canon lens (perhaps the EF28-105), but I
might have kicked myself for loosing more in trade-in value when the
EF28-135 came out which is the lens I traded the Tamron for, in the mean
time the 200mm tele range came in handy a few times.

So if you are really strapped for funding, Tamron may be the right choice,
but do take care of it, as it is not the most strongly built lens out there.
