I have a pretty nice dishwasher with fold-downs on the top rack that serve
to keep my 50mm and 20-35 in place. The 70-200 2.8 will only fit lying on
it's side however, which is actually better because you don't get the water
accumulation on the up-facing elements, but then you knew that already.

Lens caps are another story. I'm afraid the heat might be too much for them,
so they get a hand wash.
