I believe the answers are a) no (because wireless EX flash uses a white-light-pulse protocol from the master's flash tube for communication to slaves, not infra-red) b) yes (because it fires before the shutter opens it can't affect exposure) c) not if you use Canon E-TTL (because you can't fight the system :-)). You could always put everything on manual, fire the slaves with separately-purchased third-party slave sensors, and determine exposure with a flash meter.
