Julian:
Thanks for replying.

Well, after posting my original message, I set the camera to the Manual
setting. Guess what, I can set the shutter speed with the main dial by the
shutter button but the aperture is stuck on f8 regardless of the rotation of the
rear dial or whether the switch is on or off.

Great! My camera is 14 months old and was treated with the utmost care. I have
put, at most, about 20 rolls of film through it.

Next question. I will have to bite the bullet and send it to Canon but I am
wondering if anyone else had this problem and what the repair cost was. I'm
wondering if the entire back door has to be replaced with the flexible circuit
which connects it to the main body. Is this a fluke or do I have to move up to
an EOS-3 or 1V to get more than 20 rolls of film through the body without
problems?

Thanks
